Homemade burgers

Homemade chuck steak burgers


  • Good quality, coarsley ground chuck steak with 18-20% fat content - 175g per person

  • Fat Daniel's Dixie Dust All Purpose Seasoning
  • Brioche bun - 1 per person
  • Cheese slices, tomato, lettuce, pickles and ketchup


  • Divide the mince into equal parts and form into balls
  • Chill for about an hour
  • Press each meat ball between sheets of greaseproof paper to form a patty the size of your bun
  • Season generously with Dixie Dust on one side
  • Place the patties on the grill, seasoned side up, over medium direct heat for about 5 minutes
  • Flip over and season the other side
  • Flip over again after 5 minutes and cook for another 4 minutes each side or until cooked through
  • Move the burgers to the side of the grill and place a slice of cheese on the top of each one to melt while you toast the buns for a couple of minutes
  • Remove from the heat, build your burger and enjoy!
